The reason I built this outfit
I’m Cole Hendrix, and Arm Strong Quality Movers is mine. We opened in 2013 on one promise I haven’t bent since: the flat price is signed before the truck pulls out — no meter climbing after a Rainey St elevator hold, no bump because a downtown dock ran tight.
I grew up in South Austin off Manchaca and stuck around through the whole boom. For years I ran loading crews and long-haul trailers up and down I-35 before this was my own name on the door. Plenty of outfits dangle a lowball, then fatten it once the load’s strapped — we set out to be the opposite.
Who actually shows up
- Around 17 movers on the roster — all W-2, background-checked, and in an Arm Strong uniform.
- Our own trucks — every night they roll back to the Burnet Rd yard for a sweep-out, fresh pads, and staging against the following day’s board.
- One crew, start to finish on local jobs — nobody hands you off to strangers halfway through.
- Fully credentialed — Texas DMV household-goods registration for local work, plus our own US DOT and MC authority for interstate.
The buildings we know cold
We run high-rise towers on Rainey St and in the 2nd Street district, SoCo and East Austin bungalows and walk-ups, Lake Travis lakefront homes, and West Campus student housing near UT. Triple-digit summers are a given — we start at dawn and keep pads on through every elevator run.
The names you’ll hear on the job
- Marisol Vega runs the office — quotes, COIs for building management, and the Texas household-goods paperwork.
- Bryce Tolliver works dispatch, setting each day’s truck board across the metro and the I-35 corridor.
- Diego Marroquin is my lead crew chief — pianos, gun safes, specialty pieces, and downtown high-rise carries.
- Trent Kowalski leads the long-haul runs out on I-35 and US-290.
- Jerome Beckett owns the South Congress and East Austin bungalow and walk-up work.
What a move runs
Close to home it’s $155 an hour for two movers and a truck, $205 once a third jumps on — pads, dollies, shrink-wrap, wardrobe boxes, and COI prep folded in, on a one-hour minimum. Cross a state line and it becomes a binding flat figure locked in writing before the first box loads.
